Jiu Jitsu VS Grappling
How does Jiu Jitsu differ from Grappling?
- The major difference is the ability to use the Gi to perform submissions and sweeps.
- Gi Jiu Jitsu has more submissions.
- Gi Jiu Jitsu deceptively gives the apperance to be slower paced as the uniform tends to be manipulated by both opponents simultaneously leaving little room to maneuver quickly.
Jiu Jitsu’s Popularity
So why is Jiu Jitsu in such high demand?
Jiu Jitsu allows smaller individuals to submit much more powerful opponents. Hence, the big demand for its instruction. Jiu Jitsu differs from traditional martial arts because the lucky punch is non-existent. Jiu Jitsu applies pressure to a specific joint or artery that causes your opponent to verbally or physically disengage from combat.
Jiu Jitsu’s Evolution
So what’s the big deal?
Gi Jiu-Jitsu allows you to take control of a situation without causing serious harm. As most martial arts jiu-jitsu will begin standing in front of your opponents, but will be immediately transitioned to the ground where the art really hones its power. Jiu Jitsu made its mark in the early UFC fights when Martial Artist were competing to see who was best. Some may argue that it prevailed as the top martial art.
Many of our competitors have placed at national and international tournaments. The children, teens, and adults have experienced increased weight loss, athletic performance, and confidence.
